Fedor Holz can help you avoid the Biggest Poker Mistakes

All of us make mistakes. However, they are the best tool in our toolbelt for learning and improvement.

Pokercode is fortunate to have spent thousands of hours away from the table thinking about the game and making errors so that you don't have too. Our list of the 3 biggest poker mistakes that anyone can make is here!

Number 1 Poker Mistake: Failing to Prepare, Prepare to fail!

There are many things you need to do before you sit down at the poker tables.

Bankroll management is important. Make sure you feel comfortable while playing the games. Don't let the money get in the way of your enjoyment. You don't want to be broke if you're a professional. It doesn't necessarily mean we can't shoot, but we must plan how and why and not just jump in with reckless abandon.

You can maximize your winning chances as a professional by choosing the right game. Playing for fun is important. Make sure you play in games that have action and are enjoyable. There are so many choices, whether you want to play live or online, so make sure you pick the right games for you.

Mindset. Professional play requires you to have a good mental attitude. You don't want to be a part of a long, exhausting tournament if you have only 2 hours sleep. It is not conducive for solid table performance to party the night before a tournament. It doesn't mean you shouldn't have some fun. You shouldn't let your poker fun get in the way of your game.

Our opponents are not doing the same. We have an edge by being prepared. This is the first step in avoiding the most costly mistakes in poker.

#2 Biggest Poker Error - Being Too Loose-Passive

Calling too much and not raising enough is a trap that many new players to the game fall into. It's all fine to play hands and see flops, but if you do it so often without aggression, you can make yourself a target for other players who will continue to win your money.

In poker, position is everything. It is not what we want to be in a poker game. So get aggressive and tighten your belts! Many new players find themselves in a difficult position from the beginning and start to limp in. You can be the first one to act. There are eight other people who could act after you. Because eight people have stronger hands, we want to have a narrower range and play fewer hand. If we are in a late position, there will be one or two other players who can act. This means that if it's not folded to us, we have more hands with which to raise, and our chances of winning a better hand.

It is easy to recognize passive players, so when they become aggressive they lose a lot of value. Their opponents will be able to play perfectly because they know they won't be lying!

Biggest Poker Error #3: We don't think we are as good as they think!

Poker players underestimate their ability to win. This is not something new. This isn’t a revolutionary idea. This is something all poker players have done at some time in their poker careers!

We have tips to help you beat this one, unlike the other two.

Ask yourself questions; don't be afraid to question your abilities. Ask your peers for information about spots. Poker is a game where there is incomplete information. Asking questions will help ensure that you don't fall into the trap and think you are a Poker God.
