 Poker

Poker is an American card-game, but its origins are French. The game's simple mechanics have made it one of the most loved in the world. The game heavily relies on faculties to intervene, without complicated calculations.

The goal of the game

To combine a hand with a higher value than its opponents. It does not have to be better than any other hand. However, it is important that the rivals believe the hand is so that they do not see the cards.

Deck of cards

It is played using a 52-card English deck. It is common to have two decks of back colours, one for each player, and the other for the dealer. The players decide beforehand whether they want to use one or two jokers/wild card, but it's best to play with no wild cards. Wild cards can be used as a complement to or representation of any other card.

Number of players

You can have up to seven players, but the best games are played by five or six people. Each player is an independent player and does not need a partner.

Cards ordered and valued

The order of the cards is, from highest-to-lowest, ace, king, queen (Q), and jack (J), ten to nine, eight, seven (J), six, seven, five, six, seven, seven, eight, nine, seven, five, six, four, three, and deuce.

Poker hands have all the same value for every suit.

Dealing with the Cards

The cards are dealt face-up to each player, starting from the left. The first to deal is the one with the first jack (J). The dealer must allow the player to their right to choose to cut the deck. They are the only ones who can do this. Next, the dealer will give each player five cards in the indicated direction. Each new game ends with the dealer passing the turn to the right player.

Poker hands

Each player uses five cards to merge the hands. The highest- and lowest-valued hands are described below.

FIVE KINDS

This is the highest possible hand and includes 5 cards with the same value. The wild card is one. Played with two wild card, the winner is the one who has the most cards. A tie is impossible.

FLUSH IN A STRONG WAY

This is the highest possible hand, and it does not require a wild card. It consists of five cards from the same suit and sequence value. A Royal Straight Flush is made by five of the highest sequence cards in the same suit. A Low Straight Flush can be formed by the ace being linked with either the king, or the deuce. The player who wins the most straight games. Sometimes there may be a tie. In this case, the winnings can be shared.

FOUR TYPES OF A KIND

Four cards of the exact same rank. The four highest cards win. Unanimity is not possible.

FULL HOUSE

The combination of three cards from the same rank with two equal cards. The highest combination of three cards wins. Ties are not possible.

FLUSH

Five cards from the same suite, in any order. The winner is the player with the most cards. If there's a tie, the winner is determined using the next highest card. If the cards of both players are equal, they will tie and share their winnings.

STRAIGHT

Five cards in sequence but not all from the same suit. The ace may be linked to the king or deuce. The straight which starts with the highest card wins. In the event that there is a tie the winnings can be split.

THREE KINDS

Three cards of the exact same rank as the two other cards, plus the cards from each rank of the other cards, are the winning cards. A tie is impossible.

TWO PAIR

Two pairs of cards with a different rank. The highest-ranking pair wins. In the case of a tie, however, the winner is the player with a second highest pair. The highest unmatched fifth card wins if both cards have equal value. The winnings of a tie are split.

PAIR

Two cards of equal rank are preferred over three cards of different rank. The highest pair wins. In the event that there is a tie the winning player is the one with the highest pair of cards from the three unmatched cards. The winnings of a tie are split.

NO PAIR

If the game contains none of the combinations above, the winner is the player with highest total cards. If there's a tie, then the winnings are split.
