21 Texas Holdem Tips the Pros Don't Want You to Know

21 Texas Holdem Terms the Pros Do Not Want You to Know

Many people often ask me my top Texas Holdem tips.

Texas Holdem is a skill-based card games that can be played in both online casinos and offline. It is especially popular in America where it is the original game.

Many people have aspirations to win the World Series of Poker Main Event. This event crowns the unofficial Best No Limit Texas Hold'em Player every year.

The 2019 WSOP Main Event, Las Vegas, Nevada attracted a record breaking 8569 entrants who each paid $10,000 to enter (the second most entries ever).

The WSOP Main Event champion was awarded over $10 million US Dollars last year. This is not bad for a silly little game of card.

Texas Hold'em continues to be very popular. The flip of a River card can make or break dreams. This is why it is one of the best card games around.

These are the top 21 Texas Holdem tips I've learned as a professional poker player for more than 10 year.

1. You can win if you play good cards

My #1 Texas Holdem tip for beginners is one of the most important lessons in poker. You must win by playing good poker hands.

Amateurs lose Texas Holdem because of their excessive use of trashy hands.

You should be playing at the top 20% in a 6-person game of poker and the top 15% in 9-person games.

Below is a chart I made that shows you approximately the top 20% of hands (those marked with yellow). Most casinos will have Texas Holdem tables for 10 persons. You can refer to my recommendations above for a 9 person table (top 15%) in this case.

You can find all my preflop charts (and my entire poker strategy) within my free poker cheat sheet.

Get it here for free.

Now is the time to get rid of your garbage before the flop like:

84, T2 oder K3

Then you should be focused on strong hands such as:

AK/TT or JT

This is the core of any Texas Holdem strategy. Don't let yourself be fooled by bad play like many amateurs.

For long-term success in poker, it is important to not get "bored". Instead, be disciplined.

This is an important point that I cover in detail in my most recent YouTube poker video 2. Poker is won when you play in position

My next Texas Holdem tip would be to ensure that you are using the preflop charts for the majority of your hands when you are in position. This is what it actually means.

It means that you should play as often as possible in the two seats immediately to the right from the blinds. These are the button and cutoff (see chart below).

You want to do this because you almost always act last after each postflop street (flops, turns and rivers) when you are on the button/the cutoff.

This is a huge advantage in poker, as you can always see other players' play and decide what you want.

Also, you always have total control of your hand.

Bottom line: The button and cutoff are the most profitable spots in a Texas Holdem poker tournament.

Don't forget to act last on the river, turn, and flop. This is an essential part of any winning poker strategy.

Many of the novice players you'll encounter don't know this. You should therefore use a good poker HUD to identify them online.

3. The Most Important Texas Holdem Tip- Don't Tit

However, they tend to tilt too much. This is the main reason that some people don't succeed in Texas Holdem. People get frustrated when they experience bad luck.

Then they begin to play poorly by playing too many cards, being too aggressive, making silly bets, and making bad calls.

Does this sound familiar?

It can be very brutal, you guys. I have a secret weapon that helps me control my tilt at the poker table. It helps me to be calmer, stay awake longer and focus better at the poker tables.

Most importantly, it helps me mentally prepare myself for the day at the poker table where I know that I will be taking an inordinate amount of bad beats.

This is just part of the game. It's why the poor players keep coming back to spend their money again. Because Texas Holdem gives them the chance to win sometimes.

Meditation before poker sessions is something I recommend to help you keep your mind clear and calm.

It is essential to remain cool, no matter how lucky you have been. Poker is a game with constant ups and lows. Those who have the most mental strength will win.

It is #3 in Texas Holdem, and I think it's my best tip.

This is by the way: Here are my top 6 strategies for finally stopping tilting. How to Win at Texas Hold'em Poker
